Unmasking the Player: The Hidden Forces Behind Car-Buying Scams. Separating Fact from Fiction in the Car-Buying World.

A tragedy for one is an opportunity for another. This is what happened in Pakistan, especially in the car-buying market. The Pakistani car-buying market has witnessed a unique phenomenon. While people typically seek specialized services - visiting a bakery for bread or a doctor for medical care - some individuals approach car purchasing differently. They avoid authorized dealers, fueled by misconceptions that all dealers are fraudulent or scam artists driven by commission.

This rumor gained traction due to propaganda initiated by new market entrants. Although some fraudulent dealers exist, labeling the entire industry as corrupt is unrealistic. Unscrupulous individuals can be found in any market, but that doesn't justify generalizing the sector as a whole. Initially, these thugs gave path to propaganda that was ignited by a new player in the game. A player who wanted to minimize the role of vendors, to gain maximum profit for himself, the one who wanted people to deal directly and promote his personally owned business, he wanted them to deal directly with each other who were not professionals, most of which don’t even know the key ingredients of buying a car; like how to check accidental parts, excise document verifications, custom documents verification, Police Checklist, and tens of other things. The newly introduced player captured the market by targeting human nature. The player made a propaganda statement to save the 1% commission that a showroom will charge, and people forgot the reality that the commission is not just this small amount of money, it is a security that you are buying your vehicle from a professional. The showroom/vendor will be held responsible if any illegal or fraudulent activity is discovered. Additionally, the person spending a large sum to purchase a vehicle for themselves will quickly identify someone else to hold accountable.
“Nowadays, being a dealer is considered an abuse.” Says a renowned showroom owner. He added, “We prefer selling our cars at home without telling our customers that we own a showroom”.
The statement above compelled me to write about “why people fall victim to those who profit by deceiving them”—specifically, by advising individuals to seek medicine from someone who isn’t a doctor. The idea is that by visiting a doctor, you’ll be charged a consultation fee, but to save that money, you might be tempted to avoid clinics and hospitals. However, the real cost comes when you take the wrong medication, with consequences that can harm your health. The “Player” advising you is focused on saving you a small amount of money, all while lining his pocket with a larger profit. In the end, the loss is yours. It was your bad luck to be deceived, or worse, defrauded. After all, the Player intended to save you money (as they claimed).
To everyone who has read this article so far, I urge you to stay safe and be cautious when purchasing a vehicle. Your hard-earned money is valuable, so don't let anyone take it from you by selling you something that will either waste your money or become a source of constant frustration. Peace is everything, and peace comes from making the right decisions. Before purchasing your next vehicle, be sure to verify the showroom you are dealing with. Avoid falling prey to anyone who is not a professional or whom you do not know. While not everyone is a criminal, and not every showroom owner is a fraud, the likelihood of fraud is greatly reduced when you work with a professional “someone who can be held accountable and, most importantly, someone who has a long-standing presence in the market”.
